I love this picture of Zandra's granddaughter holding her brand new baby sister just hours after she was born. That makes three granddaughters for Zandra.
I got a lovely package from Kelly this week. Don't you love this picture of her with her "sister" Miya? She sent me some cool tank tops, a pretty shirt, a beautiful red nail polish that she said reminded her of me and the sweet magnet below.
They are on vacation at the coast this week. Sadly they have had rain so I suggested they take the glass blowing lesson Frances and I took some years back. If nothing else, they will get a vase or a bowl out of it. It was fun and scary at the same time.
I love this older picture I found of Douglas and Jessie's courtship days. This was taken at Jessie's house when they first started seeing each other. I love how happy they both look. Douglas was so excited when he met Jessie. I think I can honestly say it was love at first sight on both their parts. I couldn't have asked for a lovelier daughter-in-law. I can't imagine our life without her in it.My nephew in PA is learning to drive and this magnetic sign is given to them while they are learning. What a wonderful idea. I wish we had that down here. His Mom is nervous but knowing him, he will excel like he does with everything else he works at. We are all so proud of him. I can't wait until we are all together at the beach this year.
Since I shared a little of mine and Marlan's grand adventure "across the pond" with Zandra, I can't help but think of these lovely two people, Kevin (from Scotland) and his lovely bride, Brenda. They had us for dinner the two weeks we were in the Forest of Dean with them. They both look great. I'm so glad I have stayed in touch with them. We met up with them again some years later in NYC. We had a great time with them there also. We got to be with Nick and Rose only a short time in NYC because Rose had the flu and couldn't travel until much later.
Dwight, Douglas and Samantha went fishing one day the week they stayed with us several weeks ago. Samantha was the only one who caught anything - this little inch worm. She finally took it outside and put it in the grass. Then she noticed the little chair nailed to our tree. It didn't have the squirrel in it at the time but I have a picture of ours with a squirrel eating the corn cob that came with it. Another gift from Kelly. This one was for Miya who likes to sit at the door and growl at the squirrels. She acts like she would love to get after them. Poor baby - I don't let her outside.
I decided when we got her I didn't want to lose another cat to the road - I've lost too many that way. Dwight wasn't happy about it but I explained that when you adopt a rescued animal - she and her brother who belongs to Douglas - you agree they will be inside cats. She loves to go onto the screened-in porch and watch TV with Dwight. A little lizard gets in from time to time and she enjoys chasing it.
I will end with this picture of Samantha. The last time they were here, Kelly brought home the little cocktail dress I bought for her Graduation Formal Party. It is a little bit loose on her but doesn't she look pretty. I could tell she felt pretty in it. Don't you just love a girl who knows how to fish, play with an inch worm and can pull off a cocktail dress at age 14! Until the next time........
